Meet the Legacy Alliance Team

The partnership and management team of Legacy Alliance is a product of decades of professionals crossing paths on both sides of the institutional/developer strata. The roster is hand-picked, and expert in a wide range of real estate disciplines. We complement one another and constantly seek to broaden our experience while strengthening our performance.

Brad DeYoung

Co-Founder

Whether it’s poring through financials and projections or digging through the details in the dirt and dust of on-site scrums, Brad’s 25+ years of experience and dogged persistence impact our understanding of development logistics, our allocation of resources and the advantages we bring to our institutional and development partners.

Brad’s extensive development history with high-performance real estate firms and as an company owner extends beyond multi-family, and well into larger mix-used, retail, single-family, resort and single-use commercial building. All of which serves our company and clients as we scan the horizon for opportunities and undertake projects to benefit our lenders as well as our fee-development and joint development partners.

Fred Hopkins

Co-Founder

Understanding the break-neck churn of retail development is no easy task. Becoming a master of both sides of the owner/developer table is near impossible, yet it is exactly what makes Fred so adept in driving Legacy Alliance’s performance in this area. Applying the science of market dynamics, Fred works with Clients to maximize unit-performance potential.

His years of experience driving growth for multi-state regions of rapidly expanding chains gives our Clients an advantage in uncovering parcels, negotiating land contracts and managing the entire development cycle. His success in owning a retail development firm also brings a complete understanding of securing funds, structuring partnerships and achieving profits in this highly-competitive arena.

Chris Leavell

Co-Founder

Having an innate mastery of the myriad of details incumbent in real estate deals has always made Chris a go-to guy for his clients and partners. He possesses a unique perspective; having been a developer-partner in growth markets and a realty advisor for Prudential Life Insurance Company in recovery efforts during recent downturns.

Chris’ wherewithal in managing land entitlements, site planning, coordination of architects, engineers & consultants, project permitting, project management and operation of completed and owned assets has brought a thoroughly-vetted process to Legacy Alliance’s business. Our investors, lenders and fee-development partners are the beneficiaries of this attention to, and anticipation of details.
